Commonly
Asked Questions and Myths about Self Tanners and Self Tanning |
| Q.
Will I get streaks? |
| A.
Not if applied properly-- this includes application techniques
as well as proper preparing of the skin prior to treatment. |
| Q.
Will I turn Orange? |
A.
Northdale Tanning Salon, Inc. has researched many different
companies and products to find the best combination of solution
on the market today to prevent the orange tinted skin commonly
associated with self tanners. This is one of the benefits over
using a full body spray machine that would not be able to regulate
the amount applied-with the airbrush system, we have much more
control. |
| Q.
Will the solution rub off onto my clothes? |
A.
The solution that we use contains an instant bronzer as well
as the chemical DHA. DHA itself is colorless. We chose to use
a solution that contains an instant bronzer so we can see that
it is applied equally onto your entire body and that no spots
are missed or oversprayed. For this reason when booking your
appointment, please remember to bring a change of clothes to
wear after your application--if you'd like. The solution will
wash out of most cotton and cotton blends. |
| Q.
What do I wear during and after my treatment? |
A.
Generally, a bathing suit for the ladies and a pair of loose
shorts for the gentlemen. |
| Q.
How soon can I shower? |
A.
You should wait at least 6 hours after treatment before showering.
Optimally, 8-10 hours if possible. |
| Q.
How should I prepare for my UV-Free tanning treatment? |
A.
Exfoliate as close to your treatment as possible and DO
NOT moisturize prior to treatment! Ask for details
on the best types, as drug stores and department store brands
may contain ingredients that could impede your results. Please
arrive for your treatment make-up free if you wish to have your
face sprayed. |
| Q.
Can I tan indoors and get a UV-Free Tan on the same day? |
A.
No. Because of the required setting of the solution for lasting
results and the ingredients of indoor tanning lotions, it is
not recommended. |
| Q.
How long does the solution take to dry? |
A.
The solution will completely dry in about 30 minutes, less if
the humidity is low. After dry, your skin will be soft, silky
and powdery to the touch. |
